A blond head kept turning trying to gaze behind him.
The eight year old was curious. It had been a week since Mrs. Gallows had introduced them to the new kid Noah and yet nobody went over to talk to him. It left the blond boy interested that someone could remain that aloof and quiet.
“You see him?” He whisperingly asked, nudging the little girl sitting beside him.
The girl looked where he was pointing to. “Who? That new kid?”
“Yip! I feel bad that he has no friends.”
The girl shrugged. “He doesn’t seem the talking kind.”
“But Maddie look at him. He looks so ... alone.” He looked sadly at the boy. “I am going to talk to him.”
Noah was sitting at the back bench with his head lowered when he heard someone call his name and he happily looked up. One of his classmate walked up to him and with a friendly smile said, “Hi Noah! I am Luke. Can we be friends?”
