Story Notes:

Hey, yall! So, after dealing with a lot of controversies with Aaliyah and Tonya, I decided to take a break from the site. After some growing up and Livejournal diva-ing, I'm back. Now look, I want to make a new start; so whatever problems you have with me, either be up straight about it, or forget them, because if I find out I have once again be talked about behind my back (or computer screen), I will fight back. All I want is for us to be friends; is that truely so hard? Oh, but I do promise not to be so much of a b*tch as before, haha. I'm not sure if I'll be uploading all my fics, so please enjoy this one.

Chapter Notes:

My own little twist on the Nuke storyline as from when Luke and Reid began to date and Noah got his sight back. Now, I don't intend on writing a preface about what happened with Noah and Reid and Damien just yet, so to keep you from getting confused, basically, Damien kidnapped Reid and is attending to kill him, so Luke can go back to Noah. Only prob is that Noah shows up, ready to save not only the day, but Reid as well. Hope you enjoy!

Reid looked around the dark room, trying to piece together exactly what was happening. He knew Damien Grimaldi was an evil man. He knew life with Luke wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. But never would he have imagined it would cost him everything. Here he was, locked away in some abandon room, his arms tied behind his back like an animal.

As he moved his arms, trying to struggle free, his hands scraped against the floor. If anything were to happen to those hands, he’d kill! Reid laughed at the irony, seeing how if anyone was going to be killed, it would most likely be him. As he heard the door open and close, Reid pondered if it was worth it.

“Reid?” He called out into the darkness.

          “Hello?!” Reid called back.

Making his way to the back, he found Reid on the floor, his face dirty, sweaty, and bruised. Crouching to the floor, he checked for any other wounds, but found none.

“Noah?” Reid announces the name of his savior. “What the hell are you doing here?”

“At the moment, trying to get you out of here.”

Noah began to work on the knot of the rope, trying to remember everything he could from the survival guide he read when he was younger, still going from army base to army base with his father; but these knots were strong.

Standing quickly, he turned at the sound of someone entering.

“Noah? What are you doing here? Get away from him!”

“I’m not letting you do this, Damien.” Noah told him.

“I’m doing this for you and Luke.” Damien explained. “You belong together, and he’s standing in the way of that.”

“Reid isn’t standing in anyone’s way. Luke and I broke up.”

“But you still love each other. Noah, if I do this, you can finally be together.”

Noah thought for the moment. He did love Luke, and most likely always will, but to have Reid killed so he could have Luke all to himself . . . it just didn’t seem right.

“Killing Reid won’t make him love me again.”

“Love you again? He still does love you, Noah. I can see it in his eyes, and I know you can. But due to the doctor over there, and his manipulation, Luke can’t see it.”

Damien stepped forward, trying to reason with Noah.

“Noah, I understand that you blame me for the accident. If I hadn’t alerted the school of Mason’s behavior, if you were so distracted, you would’ve have lost your sight. And then Reid wouldn’t have come here. You and Luke would still be together. I take full responsibility of that; so let me make things right.”

“Right? How is killing me going to make things right?” Reid questioned. “Not only would you be hurting your son, who can’t even stand you, but you’ll be jeopardizing the lives of many patients.”

“You think I give a damn about anyone else? My one priority is to take care of my family. And that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m making sure my family; my son; is happy.”

Reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket, Damien pulled out a small handgun. Reaching outwards, he pointed it at Reid.

          “Step aside, Noah.” He ordered.

But Noah stood strong. Stepping forward, he stood in front of Reid; shielding him.

          “No.” He answered.

“Move aside!” Damien demanded, waving the gun.

“No, Damien. If you want to make Luke happy, then get rid of the real problem. Shoot me.”

          “Why would I do that?”

“Because, I’m the one standing in his way; not Reid. Because I love him, I’m keeping him from his happiness. I used to think I’d be nothing without my sight; that the only way for me to continue living on was for me to see again. Little did I know the only thing I needed to keep me going on was Luke. I didn’t know it then, but I know it now. And even though it’s too late; even though Luke has already moved on; all that matters to me is that he’s happy.”

Stepping closer, Noah stood inches away from the chest. Looking forward, he looked Damien directly in the eyes.

“So go on. Shoot me. Maybe I’ll find my happiness in heaven.”

          “You’re delusional, Noah.”

“This coming from the man that still believes his wife loves him, even after everything he’s done to hurt her family.”

“Lily does love me!” Damien spat, pressing the gun into his chest. Noah’s heart always leaped out, but he hid it well. “Just like Luke does. And they’ll forgive me in time. They always have.”

Stepping back, Damien moved his arm slightly to the right, aiming for the man still sitting on the ground, listening to everything.

“I’m a Grimaldi, Noah; and Grimaldi’s always win.”

Realizing exactly what he was doing, Noah acted quickly.

          “Not this time!”

Grabbing Damien’s arm, he pulled it down just before he could shoot Reid. The two men began a fight of push and pull, each trying to take the gun. Noah finally got a hold of it, but Damien pulled it back. And before he could stop himself, Noah’s finger accidently pulled the trigger, sending the bullet into Damien’s abdomen. Taking in a sharp breath, Damien collapsed to the ground, his blood dripping out slowly; partly on Noah, who fell with him.

Pulling himself together, Noah remembered Reid was still tied to the pole behind him. Crawling over, he once again began untying the knot.

          “Are you alright?” Reid asked.

“Fine, but we have to get out of here.”

“What about him?” Reid nods to Damien, who’s lying cold on the ground, hanging on a thread.

“The cops should be here any second. Christ, how many times did he lope this thing?”

“I wish I could remember, I was unconscious when he brought me here.”

Noah, who had a momentary flashback of his own kidnapping, stopped what he was doing. It seemed almost scary how ironic the situations were, how oh so very similar.

“Noah? Dammit, Mayer, what’s gotten into you?”

“N-nothing.” Noah shook his head, letting the memory fade. And finally un-looping the rope, Reid was finally released.

Making their way to the door, they were met by both Margo and Jack, who were each heavily armed.

“About time you showed up.” Reid announced.

“Are you guys alright?” Margo asked.

          “We’re fine, but Damien’s not.”

Looking behind them, both officers opened their eyes wide at the sight of the bleeding wanted man on the ground.

“I’ll take care of him; you bring them to the station.” Jack told Margo.

          “Alright. Come on, guys.”

Both men followed Margo out of the dark room, not even bothering to look back.

Once at the station, they were met by Lily, Holden, Lucinda, and Luke. Luke, who had been pacing back and forth with worry, nearly leaped into Reid’s arms, embracing him tightly.

“Oh my God, I was so scared. Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. Thankfully, Mayer knows how to shoot a gun.”

“Noah, are you alright?” Lily asked, noticing the blood on his clothing.

          “I’m fine. Fortunately, the blood isn’t mine; it’s Damien’s.”

“Noah.” Luke called his attention. The moment their eyes locked, each felt bold and naked; unknowing what to say next.

“Noah, we’re gonna need your statement.” Margo says.

          “Of course.” Noah nods.

“Noah,” Luke steps forward, but Noah stops him.

“It was nothing, Luke.” He said before following Margo into the interrogation room.

As Luke watched him leave, Reid couldn’t help but to replay Noah’s words in his head, knowing everything he and Damien said were true; and not knowing what to do about it.
