I love the way you played this exchange out, Sarah! Not with a lot of wordy explanations, but with actions that spoke more than a thousand lines of dialogue ever could and conveyed to both the characters and the readers everything they needed to know. Beautifully done, as usual! I saw rumblings about a possible Epilogue, and I must insist on one to tie this lovely tale up with a big bow! Thanks so much for sharing your gift for storytelling with us! :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words, Jim. As always, you say the nicest things :-)

You've gotta continue this! please?
Author's Response: Well, seeing as you asked so nicely ;-). I'll do a short epilogue that will tie up a few loose ends and let us know where Noah and Luke are now. Thank you - I really appreciate you reading and commenting.

So much love and tenderness in the middle of the riot of emotions Luke and Noah are both experiencing -- amazing, Sarah! With tears in my eyes I then found myself laughing at the thought of Holden waiting as patiently as he possibly could before finally going to knock on the door. Looking so forward to the epilogue that I can't even put it into words!
Author's Response: I'm so glad this worked for you. Thank you for reading and taking the time to let me know what you thought.

Ah Sarah! This was perfect. It left me with a huge smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Poor Noah. He really went through the mill here - his tumultuous emotions building up inside until he really could take no more and it all came out. Good thing it did otherwise Noah might have never known Luke felt the same.
You write teenage angst so well - from their words right through to their touches at the end there - it felt like I was right there in the room.
Only one complaint - I want more.
Epilogue pretty please!
Author's Response: Aw, Anne. You're always a sweetheart to me and I really appreciate it.. Your comment is such a compliment and I thank you for it. :)

Good things come to those who wait! Am sighing from the sweetness. Loved it Sarah. You write so prettily.
Author's Response: Hahahaha! I'm sincerely hoping 'prettily' is a good thing. Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment. You're a star.

Loved your writing. So much emotion. And a Nuke together ending. Thanks for finishing this. A nice holiday treat.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. I'm glad you liked it. I'm always a sucker for that happy ending, although I know my last fic posted here didn't quite fit the bill.

No bad comments here, Sarah!
The tension and the misunderstanding between the boys is played out so well this chapter reads like a thriller.
The truly amazing thing is that, at the same time, the resolution of all that is between them feels completely natural to me. Their responses, to themselves, to each other are so completely recognisably our boys. (You made me cry a bit for Noah's self loathing and smile when Luke forgot about his dad.)
Kudo's Lady. Kudo's. A stunning ending to a story that set the bar really high from its first paragraph.
(PS: please, please tell me what it was Luke took from the packing crate. Kinda dying here... ;-)
Author's Response: You're always so kind, Mariken. I really appreciate your thoughtful comments. Um...I'll be writing a short epilogue that will answer the 'what the hell was Luke looking at in that box?' question. I almost tacked it on to the bit where Noah gets his clean sweatshirt out but decided it was worth a bit more than that. Thanks again. You rock :)

Ah Sarah! What a perfect end this wonderful story of first love, crushes and dreams.
Totally love how instead of words Luke took charge and told Noah exactly how he felt by touches alone. Loved the bicep hold!
Loved their first prefect kiss!
And an ending full of hope for their future. Perfect! Xxx
Author's Response: Aw, Louise. You know I love ya, right? :)

So good to see you continuing this excellent story, Sarah!
You write with such honesty and depth of feeling that you make my heart bleed for Noah. Growing up with the Colonel as a father, Noah is so much in need of someone to love and love him back. Despite what Noah obviously thinks, is there a chance that Luke is the one?
I really hope you continue this real soon so we can find out what happens next!
Author's Response: Thanks, Anne. As always, you're a star. Hopefully it won't be too long 'til we find out if Luke's the one ;)

So thrilled to see this update, Sarah! Noah's pain cuts like a knife. The Colonel, in my opinion, should be proud of Noah for getting by the way he has been. Lily's concern and love for Noah is wonderful to read. To say that I am anxious and looking forward for the next chapter is like the biggest understatement in the history of forever!
Author's Response: Thanks, Stacey. Yeah...it would be nice to think the colonel would be proud. Must be the optimism in us. Thank goodness Noah has people like Lily to show him true family.

I cannot tell you how glad I am to see you're continuing this. It was too poignant not to. I loved this chapter as much as the first two.
Author's Response: Thank you :)

So glad to see this beautiful story updated, Sarah. Chapter 3, in all of its atmospheric, descriptive glory, broke my heart. But as much as reading Noah's loneliness - so exquisitely well written - hurt me, I know you'll do right by our boys eventually, and the way you weave this tale makes it (to abuse a phrase) 'worth the wait'.
Yeah. I loved this. FOTM anyone?
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Mariken. I'll definitely try my best to do right by our boys.

Noah needs hugs, lots and lots of them. My heart breaks for him. Hopefully he will get some answers in the next chapter that will shed some light on this painful and confusing situation.
Speaking of "light," the power being shut off in Noah's empty house is such an effective symbol of his feelings of invisibility and alienation. The boy deserves to have the light turned back on in his life, and I have complete faith that you will ensure that is the case before story's end.
I'm eager to read Luke's explanation of his behavior and I know you will write that scene so well, Sarah.
Excellent chapter of a story that truly speaks to me and touches my heart!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your thoughtful words, Jim. I really wish I'd purposely included that symbolism but, alas, I'm not that deep :)

Oh poor Noah isn't half giving himself a severe kicking! If only he knew Luke was going through the same agonies! But only Luke has lights and warmth...gggrrrr the colonel for what he does to Noah! Thank goodness someone is taking pity on him and letting him charge his mobile up! Lily is so caring in this and Ethan adorable as always!
Great to see an update of this womderful story Sarah!
Cannot wait for the final chapter!!!
Author's Response: That was quick, Ms Cossey. As always, your support gets me through :)

What the fuck! Luke was an uber ass. But Noah tried, he tried to stay strong, but there is so much you can take before you fall apart. Luke needs an ass whipping. That shit was uncalled for. When Luke snatched his hand back, I felt it. That boy needs a massive beat down. I get he's trying to protect himself as well, but he doesn't have to be such a jerk.
Maybe Lily will ask what's going on and try to get to the bottom of it.
Great chapter Sarah. Hope you don't make us wait too long for the next chapter. Although I am one that shouldn't be talking.
Author's Response: Hahaha!! Unfortunately, 16 year olds are often uber asses - believe me, I know. I really want to get this finished in at least the near future, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Thanks, as always, for your support xx

Sooooo wonderful to have you back, Sarah! Home Is Where You Are is leaving me an emotional wreck in the most exquisite way. Every emotion is so vivid. Noah's reaction to Lily's greeting is heart shattering. The last line is heart breaking. Wow! Seriously speechless here!!
Author's Response: Thank you so so much for your lovely comment. X
